Therapy for Stress + Burnout

We experience a lot of tough transitions in life (starting college, navigating becoming a caregiver, new job, loss of a job, retirement, relationship change, dealing with an injury or chronic illness, losing a partner/ friend/ family member etc.), plus day-to-day stress can pile up quickly, relationships can feel draining, and -if you throw in some frustrating anxiety symptoms- it can simply feel like too much to handle.

While therapy may feel like "one more thing" on your to-do list, Rooted Wellness Counseling goes much deeper than talking and has a plan to help you feel more in control of your life.

Stress can show up in so many ways—racing thoughts, irritability, difficulty sleeping, or feeling overwhelmed by even the smallest tasks. Here's the thing: stress is cumulative, so unless we have healthy ways of addressing it in our daily lives, it will continue to build and cause more issues.

Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we’ll explore how your thoughts and emotions shape your experience, gently challenging patterns that make things feel unmanageable. Together, we can also use Problem-Solving Therapy (PST) to break down overwhelming situations into smaller, actionable steps, helping you regain a sense of control. Finally, it is important that you have coping tools you feel comfortable using when you are feeling distressed, and we will explore lots of different options until we find what works best for you.

You don't have to do this alone—there are ways to create relief, even when it feels out of reach.

How I help with Burnout:

Burnout can feel like hitting a wall—leaving you feeling physically, emotionally, and mentally exhausted, even from things you once felt very passionate about. It’s not just about being tired; it’s the weight of chronic stress, depleted motivation, and the fear that things won’t get better. You might find yourself wondering if you’ll ever feel energized or connected again, and that is where I come in.

Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we can gently explore what about your current situation/environment is causing an increase in symptoms, identify any unhelpful thought patterns keeping you stuck, and together, we’ll develop new ways to navigate stress more effectively. We will also discuss mindfulness practices to help you reconnect with the present moment and learn how to regulate your nervous system in times of distress.

Healing from burnout takes time, but with support and practical tools, you can feel like yourself again.
