I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) and

Certified Shame-Informed Treatment Specialist (CSTS).

 

My passion is helping adults overcome problematic symptoms, negative self-talk/ image, and difficult life experiences. My approach incorporates cognitive approaches, neuroscience, self-compassion, and hands-on tools and skills.

Anxiety + Panic

Anxiety and panic love to take control over our thoughts and can greatly impact our happiness, relationships, sleep and functioning. It can show up as a negative loop of thinking that is hard to break out of or leave you feeling worried/ stuck in the "what ifs" all day or night. 

But, did you know that we understand where anxiety comes from in the brain and how to control it more than any other mental health diagnosis?

 

I empower clients to take control over their anxiety by teaching what is happening in the brain and how to intervene. We will discuss coping strategies, mindfulness practices, and talk through lifestyle changes that can prevent anxiety from building up again. Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients break anxiety's hold on their thoughts.

Relationships 

Are you feeling unheard by family or friends? Unsure if your romantic relationship is working for you? Uncomfortable with your responses or interactions? Feeling stuck?

 

Relationships are complex and the way we interact with those closest to us can be impacted by stress, grief, trauma, self-esteem, substance use and many other factors. I help individuals work through difficult situations, identify their wants/needs, discuss healthy boundaries, and acknowledge what they deserve and how to ask for it.

I also help people explore how factors such as attachment styles and love languages impact their presence in relationships. My practice is sex-positive, LGBTQIA+ welcoming, and gender-affirming. 

Stress + Burnout

Stress is a state of mental or emotional strain resulting from very demanding or adverse circumstances. Stress may result from an unhealthy work environment or relationship. It may develop due to big life changes -starting college, becoming a parent, moving, losing a partner/ friend/ spouse- or feeling stuck. As we have navigated a pandemic, job loss, isolation and huge situational changes- I know stress has built for many over the past year.

 

I also have worked with many healthcare providers and professionals in other demanding positions who are experiencing symptoms of burnout. If you feel overwhelmed, lets create a plan to address what you are facing. I am trained in Problem-Solving Therapy (PST) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) approaches to support you each step of the way!

Self-Worth

Do you feel unable to control the internal judgement and negative self-talk? Are you tired of carrying guilt and shame? It's clear that how we feel about ourselves impacts all aspects of our lives, and I can help you mend that relationship.

As a Certified Shame-Informed Treatment Specialist (CSTS), I am aware how powerful our past experiences and perceptions are in shaping our self-image. Whether you experienced unhealthy family dynamics, trauma, negative past relationships, or have struggled with self-acceptance, there are steps you can take to heal.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to work through unhelpful thinking patterns and explore core beliefs. I also incorporate Mindful Self-Compassion approaches. 

Grief

Grief is a difficult process that we all experience in different ways, for different reasons, and for different lengths of time. Death is not the only thing that causes us to go through a grieving process; divorce, relationship changes, physical illness or injury, financial loss, retirement, surviving a trauma and many other experiences/changes can lead us to grieve.

 

I help people navigate grief by exploring ways to honor and work through the grieving process, incorporating mindfulness and introducing coping strategies. We will discuss and address sleep concerns, identify triggers, breakdown overwhelming tasks, and explore feeling disconnected from our body, ourselves and others. 

Depression

Unsure if things will ever improve? Do you know what you want to do but can't bring yourselves to take the steps? Feeling as though life no longer has meaning or purpose? Whether you have dealt with chronic depression or are feeling disconnected/low for the first time, I will work collaboratively with you to develop the best treatment plan for your goals and needs.

 

I specialize in helping people overcome depression symptoms utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). We will dig into what perpetuates the cycle of depression, how to break it, and address unhealthy thinking patterns that maintain feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness.
